Marco Wittmann celebrated his first victory in Hockenheim, Germany, where this year's season of the DTM series began. The RMG BMW racers drove the race flawlessly after jumping past Adrien Tambay (Abt Audi) in the second lap of the race, who started the race from the best starting position. The latter finished her in third place, behind teammate Mattias Ekstrom.
