Williams will use several Mercedes parts in 2022

The Williams team has announced that it will deepen technical cooperation with Mercedes, as they will use more components manufactured by their engine supplier from the 2022 season onwards.

Williams has been using Mercedes powertrains since the beginning of the hybrid powertrain era in 2014, but unlike Racing Point (now Aston Martin), they made the gearboxes themselves. After the Williams family sold the team, the new management decided to increase cooperation with Mercedes next season.

In addition to the engines, the team from Grove will now buy gearboxes and the necessary hydraulic wiring from Mercedes, which will enable them to focus on the development of other components in the factory.
