Are the fans deciding on Rosberg’s penalty?

The Mercedes team announced today that Nic Rosberg, who took the blame for the collision with Lewis Hamilton in Belgium, will be disciplined or punished with an "internal" penalty.

It is not known what the penalty will be, but it is interesting that the Brackley team was very active on social media about the incident, where they first asked their fans: “Put yourself in the shoes of the leading man in the team, what would you choose: team command, to prevent incidents between racers or freestyle racing? ”

Fans were able to identify themselves by squeezing a “like” for free racing on the team’s Facebook page, or sharing the story if they chose team commands.

This was followed by the announcement of the results. On Thursday, they wrote: “The people have spoken! 98 percent of you voted for free racing and two percent for team orders. ”

They then addressed the issue to those 98 percent who support free racing. "How would you take action against a racer who has violated the agreement that there should be no incident between the team's racers?" The remaining two percent, however, were asked how they would ensure compliance with team orders. In addition, they offered some options from which we can most likely deduce how Nico Rosberg will be penalized in one of the upcoming races, or what penalty will follow if any of them (such as Hamilton in Hungary) do not obey team orders.

They wrote: "Would you force a racer to miss one race and thus damage the constructors' championship?" This option may not seem realistic in the case of Rosberg's "offense," which most viewers and professionals see only as a racing incident, but it could be possible for Nico to enter the race and then end the race prematurely due to an imaginary or deliberate minor technical problem. . This would certainly harm the team's points, but Mercedes can hardly be deprived of the crown in the constructors' championship, and at the same time, if the team feels that Lewis lost the ranking just behind Rosberg, they would somehow nullify the "damage" in racing.

Another option was to "agree on the final order of the racers in the qualifiers." This is also quite realistic, as for example Nico can "surprisingly" drop out in the second half and thus start the race somewhere in tenth place, which would again give Hamilton a certain advantage and the opportunity to regain the point gap that arose in Belgium.

In addition to the qualifications, they also mentioned the possibility of an agreed order after the start to the first bend and the agreed advantages at the stop.

These two options are also quite feasible, but because Mercedes did not actually announce what the penalty is or will be for Rosberg, it is quite possible that we will find the answer among the comments on their Facebook profile.
