Former Formula One racer Mark Webber said he has no recollection of the sight of the horrific crash at the 6-hour Sao Paulo race, the WEC series.

The Porsche racer got out of the car with a few punches and a concussion. The accident happened when the Australian lost control of the car in the fourteenth turn and crashed into a wall at high speed. The Australian remained under observation at a hospital in Sao Paulo and is expected to return home later this week.

“Everything hurt in the morning. I’m pretty beaten up and at the same time I’m facing a headache, ”Webber said. “I don’t remember how the accident happened. The team is still studying the details and will let me know the findings when they find out. ”

The race ended behind the safety car, and the victory was celebrated by Porsche’s second # 14 race car, raced by Mark Lieb, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani. “I’m glad the boys in number 14 managed to win and end the season in a nice way,” Webber added.

The Australian suffered a similar accident in the same corner in 2003 in a Formula One race for the Grand Prix of Brazil.
