He would not have had to resign, but as he says, it was best for everyone: “I have decided to run for FIA president. I have a lot of work to do, as the election period starts in September and I have to go hunting for votes quickly. That's why I stayed, because the foundation is independent and I don't want to muddy it with a fierce fight for the presidential candidacy. "
Finally, it is worth mentioning that Ward's position as director general of the FIA Foundation will be temporarily taken over by Saul Billingsley. Otherwise, Ward comes from the "headquarters" of Max Mosley, so we have a kind of left-right fight ahead of us.
