Maverick Vinales said plans for his future have stalled for now. Although it was evident that relations between the Spaniard and Yamaha were deteriorating, Vinales ’decision to end the contract early at the end of the season came as a bit of a surprise.
Ever since the announcement that he is splitting with Yamaha, there has been a lot of speculation as to where he will race next season, and the loudest rumors have been that he is set to move to Aprilia. Vinales, along with several other MotoGP riders, took part in a racing day at the Barcelona racetrack, where he explained to reporters that he has not yet decided who he will race for next season.
“Plans are standing still for now,” the new dad said. “At the moment, I would like to enjoy the holidays with my family, as the first half of the season was very tiring. I don't have a contract with anyone and I don't want to rush. ”
Vinales says he is looking for a motorcycle that will allow him to ride at the limit of performance, which Yamaha does not allow. If he can't find it, he doesn't even rule out a racing break.
