Sebastian Vettel has replaced a former Ferrari racer, Gerhard Berger, at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, where the next Formula One World Championship race will take place. Berger lent Vettl his Ferrari F1-87 / 88C with which he raced in 1988 and won the Italian Grand Prix.
Berger, who last raced in Formula One in 1997, was able to test Vettl’s 2012 Red Bull Renault race car, from the 2012 season, with which Sebastian won the championship.
“The race car is so clean, so direct,” Vettel said of driving a 16-year-old Ferrari with a 1.5-liter turbo engine. “Due to the lower vacuum, the speeds in corners are lower than in modern racing cars, but it doesn't say anything, as it has a lot of power at its disposal. The ride is a lot of fun. Great! ”
