Mikhail Aleshin, a SMP Racing racer, is in serious but stable condition after a horrific accident in training before the last race of the Indycar series season in Fontana.

Aleshin was injured in the last practice before the race, just as he finished the fast lap, he lost control of the car at a speed of around 345km / h and slipped against a firewall, colliding with another racer Charlie Kimbal. Aleshin's race car flew into the air and spun violently several times after contacting the safety net above the wall that ripped the bike off the race car.

The racer was immediately flown by helicopter to hospital, where he was found to have been taken away with a concussion, broken ribs, a broken collarbone and other chest injuries.
