The second free practice for the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg served with a lot of happenings on the track, and the accidents of three racers from the forefront of the championship could predict a very dramatic continuation of the weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
First, Max Verstappen severely damaged his car. In the tenth corner, he was hit by the rear of his RB15 car, with which he then collided into a protective fence. Training was interrupted by a red flag, and after a few injured front wings in the first training session, the Red Bull boss said that the bill for spare parts would greatly exceed 300.000 euros. Verstappen, however, could find himself in even greater trouble on Sunday if he damaged the gearbox, which is most exposed in the rear of the car, in the collision.

As training continued, however, a new break was provided by Valtteri Bottas, who smashed his Mercedes quite hard in the sixth corner.

Subsequently, however, Sebastian Vettel injured his car somewhat less dramatically. The Ferrari racer spun in the ninth corner, like Verstappen, but managed to stop in front of the guardrails. The German reworked the bottom of the car when sliding over the curbs.
