Sebastian Vettel has admitted that there are many reasons why it would be nice to have Kimi Raikkonen as his team-mate next season.
Steve Robertson, Kimi’s longtime manager, confirmed on Monday that negotiations with the Red Bull team were over, and before the race in Belgium, of course, Vettel could not avoid questions at the expense of the Finnish racer. The current champion has once again confirmed that he would be happy to accept Raikkonen into the team, but unfortunately he has no influence on who his teammate will be.
“I didn’t know how serious it was all together, but it looks like nothing will come of it,” Vettel commented on rumors of Raikkonen’s move to Red Bull. “I told the team my opinion, but in the end the decision is not in my hands. I don’t even want to get too involved in it. Kimi would be ideal in many ways, but now there will be nothing with his arrival, so it doesn’t even make sense to discuss it. We are both still young, so there is a lot more to come. Never say never, but he may join us next year, although that is unlikely. ”
