Vettel routinely to 41st pole position

Red Bull racer Sebastian Vettel had everything under control in the qualifiers for the Singapore GP and apparently easily won a new top starting position.

In the last part of the qualifications, Vettl's competitors mostly decided on the tactics of two fast laps, and the current world champion was satisfied with the first time of 1: 42.841. Le Vettel, Mark Webber, and Grosjean saved all the soft tire kits for the final part of the qualifiers, giving them more room to maneuver.

But Vettel showed what a test he is from when, in his only attempt, he shot to the top of the timeline with more than half a second advantage. Most of the competitors opted for another quick lap, and the German followed the action from the pits.

Vettel was biting his nails as Nico Rosberg approached the end of the lap, but the Mercedes racer was still less than a tenth behind his compatriot and Seb was already celebrating his forty-first best starting position. Grosjean and Webber split the second starting line-up, while Lewis Hamilton had to settle for fifth place with four tenths of a second behind Vettl.

Felipe Massa, who announced before the start of the race weekend in Singapore that he would no longer race for teammate Fernando Alonso, overtook the latter by 48 thousandths of a second. Jenson Button, Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Gutierrez shared the last three places in the top ten.
