Red Bull racer Sebastian Vettel said it was quite clear to him that he would have to do his best for the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.

Vettel will be chasing the fifth Formula 1 title in a row this year, but the German is aware that after such poor testing, this will be a difficult challenge for him, especially in the first races.

“We have been very successful in the last few years, but now things are a bit harder and we will start the season in a worse position. That means I’m going to have to fight, ”Vettel said ahead of Sunday’s season opening in Melbourne.

“It will be a great start to the season,” he added. “We didn’t do the job testing the way we wanted to, so we have to do it in Melbourne. It’s hard to know where we are, but it’s fair to say that we’re not favorites to win and that we need to make up for lost time and catch up with a competition that has done a lot more mileage in testing. We will do our best with the whole team. We have already achieved a lot together and I know that everyone is working full steam ahead. ”

“It’s a really good start to the season and there’s always a good atmosphere. The weather in Melbourne is often unpredictable and we start later than usual on Sunday. Looking at the track, I really like the start of the chic Jones where the track is very narrow. I really like Formula 1 racing and I can't wait for it to start! ” is an enthusiastic German.
