In the second free practice for the Mexican GP, Max Verstappen was 0.4 seconds faster than Valtteri Bottas and 0.5 seconds faster than his title contender, Lewis Hamilton. The Red Bull racer thus takes on the role of the main favorite to win Saturday's qualifiers, before which the racers will complete their third training session.
The fourth time was set by the home side, Sergio Perez in the second Red Bull Racing race car, and Carlos Sainz was fifth. Pierre Gasly, Charles Leclerc, Juki Tsunoda, Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso also finished training in the top ten.
