Verstappen lost his temper at the 24 Hours of Le Mans virtual race

Max Verstappen has been highly critical of the organizers of the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans after his team lost victory due to problems with internet connections.

The Dutchman spends quite a bit of his free time playing racing video games. This weekend he took part in the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans race with his Redline team. Due to problems with the servers, the race was initially interrupted twice. Many racers then lost connection during the race and thus wasted a good position.

One of them was Verstappen, who appeared in the team together with Jeffrey Rietveld, Luke Browning and Diogo Pinto. The Dutchman took the lead at the start of the race. With seven hours to go, their advantage over the second-placed team was more than a minute.

But then problems arose. Due to a short disconnection, he lost the lead and slipped to seventeenth place. 90 minutes later the problems happened again. Their team was behind the leaders for several laps. This greatly angered the Dutchman, who left the game.

He then shared his anger online.

"They are not even able to control their own game. This is the third time this has happened to me that I've lost connection during this race. But surely that was the last time. You prepare for this race for two months, but the organizers don't know how to properly prepare it."

"You can't call it an event. This is a real circus. That's why it's better to resign than to drive in fifteenth place for six hours. It's a shame for all the effort we put into preparing for this race as a team.”

"The organizers must think carefully about how they will run this race in the future. I will delete this game myself, which will also be good for my computer. I hope the others will do the same.”
