Max Verstappen celebrated the 45th victory of his career, the eighth in a row, at the Belgian Grand Prix. The Dutchman, who lost five starting places due to a gearbox change and started the race from sixth place, extended his championship points lead over Sergio Perez, who was second in the race.

The two Red Bull racers were joined on the podium by Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.

Verstappen is unbeaten since the Miami GP, and if he wins the Dutch GP, he will equal Sebastian Vettel's record of nine consecutive wins from the 2013 Belgian GP to the 2013 Brazilian GP.

Lewis Hamilton was fourth ahead of Fernando Alonso, George Russell and Lando Norris, followed by Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll and Yuki Tsunoda.
