Ducati test racer Michele Pirro has revealed that Valentino Rossi, who ended his career as a MotoGP racer on Sunday, accepted his invitation to test Ducati’s MotoGP motorcycle.

“It was a great privilege to share the track with the greatest racer of all time,” Pirro said. "I asked him to take a few laps at this year's Ducati DesmosediciGP, as he was still there when I joined the team and I know what all he experienced, and he accepted my invitation."

Rossi transferred to Ducati in 2011, but returned to Yamaha at the end of the 2012 season after a lot of trouble. Pirro wants the 42-year-old veteran to personally taste Ducati’s progress in recent years. For Rossi, the "test" will also be welcome because in 2022, his VR46 team will compete in MotoGP with Ducati motorcycles. Thus, the experienced Rossi will be able to immediately give some advice to his brother Luca Marini, who will be one of the racers of the Italian team, and to his teammate, Arc Bazzecchi.
