Audi racer Mike Rockenfeller will start the race at Brands Hatch from the best starting position after the commissioners deleted the time of Martin Tomczyk, otherwise the fastest in qualifying. His BMW was too light at the qualifying weigh-in.
The German initially looked forward to the first best starting position since 2011, and his RMG team celebrated the first ever. But commissioners said the car was not in line with regulations, so Tomczyk moved to the start of the starting line and Mike Rockenfeller advanced to the best position. Augusto Farfus in the RBM BMW will stand next to him at the start.
