According to Yamaha team leader Maria Meregalli, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu is expected to test their MotoGP motorcycle this year.

The current world champion of the Superbike class has repeatedly publicly expressed his desire to compete in MotoGP. At the end of last season, there were already rumors that this could happen this year. Nevertheless, it is clear that Turek will be defending his Superbike title this season, and he could join the MotoGP caravan in 2023.

As Meregalli confirmed today, Yamaha is already planning a possible date when Razgatlıoğlu could test Yamaha's MotoGP motorcycle.

"We were thinking about it at the end of last season. We had a plan to test the motorcycle last year, but we had to postpone it due to the end of the Superbike season in Indonesia. ”

“We want to do that now this year, but we need to find a free time between the MotoGP and Superbike seasons. There is still a need to align. We are currently considering two possible dates, either in June or later in August. ”

“In the team, we want to see how he will end up on a completely different motorcycle. Given his performances in recent seasons, he certainly deserves such an opportunity. Nothing has been agreed yet about his future in MotoGP. However, it represents a very interesting opportunity for the future, ”concluded Meregalli.
