The first test day of the 2024 MotoGP season for Martin

Jorge Martin was fastest at the end of the first of three days of MotoGP testing in Malaysia.

Raul Fernandez and Francesco Bagnaia took care of the first interruption after 15 minutes, who found themselves on several damp floors. Fernandez, who set the fastest time in the first hour, landed hard on his back and was taken to the medical center for a check-up in pain, where no serious injuries were found, so the Trackhouse driver soon returned to the pits, Bagnaia, who he failed already in the preparatory round, but he also soon continued with the tests without any problems.

Jorge Martin was the only one to set a time lower than one minute and 58 seconds in the morning and thus remained at the top of the time table until the end.

Marc Marquez, who took to the track for the first time in the official colors of Gresini Ducati, also received a lot of attention. The Spaniard ran into technical problems with his bike early on, then took a fast lap around midday and then ran into technical problems again. The eight-time world champion managed to improve his time with some help from the lee of Fabio Quartararo, before joining the rest of the riders who fell. But the fall didn't stop him, so he later returned to the track and improved his time to finish ninth.

As an interesting point, it is necessary to draw attention to the final speeds of the racers. The highest speed, 336,4 km/h, was achieved by Luca Marini on Honda, who later pointed out that he was riding in the lee, Jorge Martin on Ducati, and Marc Marquez, also on Ducati. Slightly slower was Fabio Quartararo on Yamaha, who was fastest at 335,4km/h, the same as KTM racers Jack Miller and Brad Binder.
