Pedrosi's third free practice, Marquez's fall

In his third free practice in sunny Texas, Dani Pedrosa took first place on the timeline. Marc Marquez, who reigned in the first two free practice sessions, experienced a minor drop in the first five minutes, which ended happily for him. After returning to the track with another motorcycle, however, he only further improved his time and took second place. He was followed by the current world champion Jorge Lorenzo, followed by Cal Crutchlow, Stefan Bradl, Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi in seventh place. He surprised Aleix Espargaro again, who was faster than the two newcomers on the CRT motorcycle on the prototypes of Bradley Smith (Yamaha Tech3) and Andrea Iannone (Energy Ducati Team).
