The Toro Rosso team with the weakest engine

Mercedes, with its programs comparing all teams with each other, discovered that the Toro Rosso team has the weakest engine of all teams.

Toro Rosso is the only team to use last year's Ferrari engine this year, as they stopped working with Renault this year.

“You may not know it, but the engine with the least power is Ferrari’s engine in the Toro Rosso team car,” confided Mercedes technical manager Paddy Lowe. “Renault and Honda are not much worse than Ferrari and Mercedes engines, as there are no significant differences between them. Lowe did not trust any numbers, but stressed that nonetheless, this does not mean that the Toro Rosso team’s engine is outside the prescribed standards, but they are about one to two percent worse than the best engines.

In addition, racer Max Verstappen admitted that in the last race he noticed that the Haas team car for racing conditions was also far ahead of him. The Haas team, whose engine supplier is also Ferrari, uses a more modern engine, this year.
