After a great start to the mission, a performance in the Opel Adam International Cup, which takes place at German rallies, the Tim Novak-Uroš Ocvirk crew unfortunately resigned at the Sulingen Rally. On the seventh speed test (out of 13 planned), they 'cut' the bend too much, as it is called in the jargon, and hit the stone so hard with the bike that they damaged the front chassis.

"At the beginning of the rally, we somehow didn't find the right rhythm, even though we tried. Probably too much. We drove the last Friday speed test without additional headlights, which was a mistake. In the pits, we assumed we wouldn’t need them, but then, due to a fellow rider accident, the start was postponed for 25 minutes, and by then it was already getting dark. In the same speed test, I also drove into a larger hole that damaged the power steering on the steering system. So I was by no means happy with Friday’s part of the Sulingen Rally. On Saturday morning, Uroš and I took matters into our own hands, gathered and the second time of the fifth speed test is proof that we were on the right track. Then we took one bend too far, as we like to call it, and the rock damaged the chassis so much that we were lucky that we didn't cut down a few more trees on the road trip. It's all right, this weekend we have to forget as soon as possible and focus on better performances in the future, "said the 21-year-old Leščan.

Due to this resignation, the Novak-Ocvirk crew slipped from second place in the overall cup standings to fifth, ahead of four more races, of which the World Cup rally, which is counted every day separately. The upcoming race of the German Opel Cup will be the Thuringen Rally from 15 and 16 July.
