MotoGP class racers will apparently not compete at the Buddh International Circuit this year due to unpaid obligations of local promoter Fairstreet Sports.

Last year, the Indian racetrack hosted the best racers on two wheels for the first time, despite the initial problems with visas, the race weekend went without any major problems. This year's test, which was supposed to take place between September 20.9 and September 22.9, was supposed to be cancelled, as the local promoter has not yet settled the financial obligations to Dorna and the other partners. At Dorna, May 20 was supposed to be the last deadline for payment, but it is unlikely that matters could be settled by then.

Instead of this race, the race in Kazakhstan, which was postponed due to floods, would be held that weekend. The leading men of Dorna have visited the Sokol International racetrack several times in recent months. They should be satisfied with what they see. The biggest problem is the fact that the racetrack is practically in the middle of nowhere. The nearest hotels are located approximately 75 kilometers away.
