Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, wants to race in the British capital. Johnson still hopes to bring Formula 1 to the streets of London, although many see the proposal as unfeasible. That the ideas for the London Grand Prix have come to light again can probably be attributed to the fact that next week we will have a Formula 1 race in Silverstone, and this weekend London will host a Formula E race.

Johnson told the British Guardian: “I am ready to talk about it. I am always interested in projects that bring jobs and growth. It will be necessary to look at the issue of air quality and noise, but I am quite positive in order to be able to meet these two factors. ”

The most prominent rumors of Formula 1 in London surfaced years ago when later McLarn teammates - Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button - backed the Santander sponsor’s plan. Words were carried up and down for a while, and Bernie Ecclestone even offered to cover the cost. The biggest problem, as Johnson also mentioned, was pollution and noise, and Formula E solves this area well.

“Formula E is a wonderful event for London. Congratulations to all. We need to make sure it’s on the agenda every year, ”Johnson added.
