The Tech3 GASGAS team has confirmed that the injured Pol Espargaro will be replaced by Jonas Folger.
The German racer, who, in addition to Dani Pedrosa and Mike Kallio, performs the role of test rider for the KTM team, will replace the injured Spanish racer in the third race of the season in Austin.
This will be his first appearance in the elite class after 2017, when he also competed for the Tech3 team, but then still on a Yamaha motorcycle. In the aforementioned season, he won second place at his home race at the Sachsenring. He then missed the last four races of the season due to illness. However, after one year, his career in the elite class ended. He competed in the Superbike championship in 2021, and before this season he became a test rider for KTM.
