Formula 1 is also active on social networks. With more than 2,4 million likes on Facebook, 2,1 million followers on Twitter and more than 1,2 million followers on Instagram, it is among the elite of those dominant on social media.

Nevertheless, some experts accuse her of not being very attractive, for example with videos of individual events. However, they are slowly turning to their loyal followers. This season, fans can choose their favorite racer of the race as well as the best scene of the last race.

However, in terms of activity, it is also surpassed by individual racers, who, however, prefer to advertise and spread the word about themselves than about Formula 1. Among the advocates of greater activity of Formula 1 itself is also the team leader Hass Günther Steiner. Already in the last race, in a conversation with the leaders of Formula 1, he suggested greater activity and, in the end, also addressing the younger generation, who might thus get to know the spectacle offered by Formula 1 better.

His team, which only entered the Formula 1 round this year, also has a large number of followers. “We are not content to do nothing about new social networks. Our PR department absolutely takes advantage of this opportunity to communicate as well as address our admirers. America, where we come from, is a huge market, ”Steiner explained his activities. With this, he came very close to the opinion of Ron Dennis, the age of Formula 1, who equally advocates greater activity on new social media.

“We are aware that we need to connect with our fans, and social networks are a unique and wonderful option. After all, without the fans, we wouldn't be here either, and it's right that we connect with them in this way. This is also a way for us to attract even more sponsors, ”said the strategic Steiner. Of course, obviously Steiner is also aware that all the changes and the new and above all complicated rules have made Formula 1 boring for most. And certainly such an activity is more than a suitable attraction and solution.

"Above all, we need to attract young people to races. As everywhere, in this business, too, trends once turn downwards and the second time upwards. I believe that with such modern approaches we can once again rise to the level that Formula 1 already had, ”Steiner looks to the future. However, Bernie Ecclestone is also obviously causing a problem here.

“I don’t think this year has been bad. It is true that we had one and the same winner in the first races, but at the same time we had a lot going on in the middle. Lots of fighting and lots of challenging. There was always something interesting and so Formula 1 itself was very attractive this year, "Steiner gave his assessment of the first couple of races.

Steiner liked the response of the classic sports media to Max Verstappen's success and concluded by saying that a lot also depends on the media itself. However, if you offer them something, you can also get something. This rule certainly applies to sports media as well. And Steiner has shown that he masters more than just preparing a race car and scoring points.
