After the appearance of the nine - time world champion at Monte Carlo Rally, there has been a lot of speculation that Loeb will be driving for Citroen in four rallies this year, but the French explain that the appearance at the opening rally of the season was only one-off.
Loeb surprised in Monte Carlo on the first speed test and led the rally to the seventh test, where he made a mistake, damaged the car and finished the rally in eighth place.
Yves Matton said Loeb will continue to focus on racing in the WTCC this year. “Everyone is wondering a lot about that,” Matton said. “But we didn’t talk about it. He will try to win the WTCC championship this year. This is a big challenge for him. He has already achieved a lot: he won a rally, a mountain speed race Pikes Peak, but now I would like to prove that he can be successful in other areas as well.
It is not in my plans for Loeb to take part in the new rallies at the moment. The plan is to achieve something with it in touring cars.

Loeb, however, said the Monte Carlo Rally was probably his last in the World Championship. “I’m driving on racetracks now,” Dale Loeb said. “The rally was during the winter break and not in the middle of my racing season. So I was able to take Monte Carlo. I love the rally and the atmosphere, but we are not talking about taking another rally.
Who knows and I’m not saying this is my last rally, but I don’t think I’ll be back in the World Championships anymore. I’m not planning anything, nor is anyone thinking about it. Never say never, but so far this was my last performance, ”added the Frenchman.
