Andrea Dovizioso injured his right knee in a private or unofficial test of a Ducati in Misano. The extent of the injuries is not yet known, nor is it known whether the Italian will be able to compete in the race for the British Grand Prix next weekend.

Dovizioso, together with his teammate Andrea Iannone, tested new parts in Misano, and by the time of the accident he had driven as many as 93 laps, and his best time was 1.33.195.

Iannone drove 59 laps and the best time of 1.33.115 was only slightly better than Dovizioso’s.

The Ducati racers were accompanied by Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl, who tested new parts for the Aprilia factory team, and Mika Kallio and Karel Abram, who gained new kilometers on KTM's RC16 motorcycle.

Ducati's Superbike racers, Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano, as well as Marco Melandri, who will be racing in the Superbike for Ducati next season, also tested on the track at the same time.
