Tech3 racer Miguel Oliveira is not entirely sure he will be able to compete in the race for the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepnag, as an MRI scan showed ligament injuries in both wrists. Oliveira fell on Saturday training on Phillip Island due to a gust of wind. Doctors at the racetrack did not allow him to perform at the race in Australia, and Oliveira instead went to Melbourne for further check-ups.

“After an MRI scan, they found ligament damage, nothing serious,” Oliveira explained. “We saw that the shoulder injury also got worse. Now we are deciding with the team what to do, also for the future. ”

Tech3 boss Herve Poncharal, however, said he was quite optimistic that Oliveira would still be able to perform in Sepang. “The bad news is that Miguel is still feeling the effects of the fall on Phillip Island,” he said. "The good news is that there are no broken bones and that the injuries are healing day by day. But we are still waiting for the final confirmation that Miguel can compete in the race. Nevertheless, we are very optimistic. ”
