Simona De Silvestro also officially joined the Sauber team today. The 25-year-old Swiss has been racing in the US since 2006. She has competed in IndyCar for the past four years, where she also stepped on the podium for the first time at a race in Houston last year. She joined the Sauber team in order to obtain the super license needed to race in Formula One. She is expected to need this no later than 2015, when she is expected to get a regular racing seat on the team. Until then, she will test and train in a simulator.
