The role of the favorite was confirmed by Simone Faggioli with the best times in all races, both trainings and both races. In the last run, with his prototype Norma M20 FC, he broke the track record and fell below the two-minute mark. With a time of 1: 59.65, he was completely in his class, as the closest follower Federico Liber was 8.8 seconds behind him, of which only 5.38 seconds in the second run. At the 20th edition of the mountain speed race in Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenians also have reason to celebrate, as our Patrik Zajelšnik celebrated the overall final third place. The national championship of Slovenia was a much closer victory, which was celebrated by Matevž Boh (Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX) over the legendary Milan Bubnič in the attractive Lancia Delta Integrale HF. Today, exactly four years have passed since the Frenchman Lionel Regal, one of the shifts of the most successful mountain speed race drivers in the world, lost his life in a mountain speed race in Switzerland. He was a five-time French national champion and will be remembered for his attractive rides. He lost his life in a race in Saint-Ursanne at the age of 35 after the rear of his race car was blown too wide in one of the turns and crashed into a tree.

Thus, behind us is this year's mountain speed race Lučine, where we had a lot of fun, as always, despite some mild sunburns. It is difficult to single out only one racer who impressed the most, as they all performed with passion, joy and for their own pleasure, as well as the pleasure of the spectators, risking their health, which reminded us of Primož's overturning after last year's Slavko Zorman accident in Ilirska Bistrica. Italian Federico Liber set the fastest time in training before the Lučina mountain speed race. With a total time of 2: 07.65, he was more than a second and a half faster than the first pursuer, Vaclav Janik. The third fastest was Tiziano Riva, who was 0.14 seconds behind. The first training run 'eliminated' only Pogačar (VW Golf MK1), who was already able to attend the second. After everything went almost smoothly, the third run served up with two longer breaks. Jure Jan (Ford Focus ST) took care of the first one right after the start, after which they had to clean the track after the oil spill. Just before the end, Laszlo Szasz (Zytek Reynard F3000) turned around, who had to settle for resignation, but some drivers did not decide to start. In all three runs there is something less than

Rally
It has been 29 years since the engines of rally cars finally roared in the vicinity of Železniki. Now the roar of racing motorcycles is returning to Selška dolina with the 1985st Železniki Sprint Rally, which will take place on 1 October 4.10.2014 in the vicinity of Železniki, where the locals still cultivate a love for this sport, so we can expect great interest and a large number of visitors. Competitors will run two speed trials, located in the surrounding hills, three times with a total length of 100 kilometers, and the start and finish of the rally will be in the center of Železniki, all in one day. Otherwise, Selška dolina lost its last contact with racing cars after 2005, when the Sorica mountain speed race was held.

The mountain speed race on Gorjanci took place in beautiful sunny weather. A good number of spectators gathered along the track. The event passed without any serious accidents, only in the first run there were three long interruptions, after the sports officials had to clean the oil from the road and repair the chicane along the track. The winner was the Czech Vaclav Janik (Lola B02 / 50), who repeated the success from 2012 and thus celebrated for the second time at GHD Gorjanci. Janik also had the fastest time in all three runs and thus won sovereignly over his compatriot Jiri Svoboda (Norma M20F), and Hungarian Laszlo Szasz (Reynard Zytek), who otherwise competes under the Croatian flag, finished in third place. Before the start of today's race, Janik left the role of the favorite to Svoboda, as he had problems with electronics at yesterday's trainings, which he
