The financial crisis hit Maranello
Ferrari sponsor Philip Morris has languished over financial difficulties as the winter opening event of the Wroom season will no longer be on the schedule. Ferrari and Ducati started the season on skis in Madonna di Campiglio, where they have been hanging out for the last 23 years. Philip Morris Vice President Maurizio Arrivabene said the costs were unfortunately no longer acceptable in these times: "The costs have skyrocketed, unfortunately we can no longer afford that." Finally, we should mention that Philip Morris has been a Ferrari sponsor for many years, where he was present with the Marlboro brand. As tobacco and alcohol advertising becomes increasingly limited, however, they are slowly withdrawing. For once, it is not clear whether Ferrari and Ducati will go skiing at their own expense, or whether they will acquire some other sponsor for this.
