
Williams: The loss of Latifi's sponsors is not that significant
Williams claim they are in a solid financial position ahead of the new F1 season, despite the loss of sponsors for former driver Nicholas Latifi. After three seasons with Williams, Latifi left the team at the end of 2022, along with his sponsors such as Lavazza and Sofina. The Williams team unveiled a new livery for the FW45 racing car this week, featuring a new sponsor, Gulf Oil. The team's commercial director, James Bower, however, said the loss of Latifi's sponsors had not hit the team as hard as some had suggested. "There are some assumptions about the loss of income from the recent changes, but the reality is different," Bower said. "We're adding new partners in the run-up to the season, so I think we're in a much more robust position than we were
