Baumschlager won the Weiz Rally
In the last race in neighboring Austria, the winner was again almost 55-year-old Raimund Baumschlager, who, with the help of energy drink giant Red Bull, Dietrich Mateschitz and his sponsorship, successfully races his Škoda Fabia S2000 EVO II. He finished the last race ahead of South African Hank Lategan, who also rides for Raimud’s BRR Baumschlager Rallye & Racing Team. His advantage was a good two minutes. Apart from the Austrians, the Italians were the most represented, but there was no Slovenian representative. Rally Weiz had as many as 16 speed trials, which meant that quite a few racers did not see the finish line, as 200km was too much for their steel horses, so most of them finished prematurely due to technical problems.
