In Žire, a small town at the end of the Poljanska valley, in a small private garage, Marko Mlakar is constantly diligently upgrading his racing VW Golf II, with which he competes in mountain speed racing. Instead of a sequential gearbox, Marko installed a system in the Golf, which, despite the "classic" H-gearbox, allows quick gear changes by pulling the steering wheel lever. The system leaves a deep impression on many people, as it is used by the legend during mountain races, Felix Pailer, for example in his Lancia Delta. The MME Motorsport electro-pneumatic system changes gears in just 0,08 seconds. You can see the operation in the video below, and you may meet the Golf and its creator in one of the mountain speed races this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLVy

Oettinger will present its conversion of the Volkswagen Golf R at Lake Wörth in Austria, which is already aggressive in appearance, but hides its beastly soul under the hood, where there is a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder TFSI engine with a new turbocharger, a new air intake, but in order to reach the set 518 horsepower, they also redesigned the control unit, the cooling system, and added a sports exhaust. With 680 Nm of torque, the Golf R500 accelerates from 0 to 100km / h in 3,4 seconds, and you can drive up to 300km / h with it. When, or if the car experiences a limited production series, it will probably be necessary to deduct an amount that will be as high as all the other numbers in it, and its creators have not yet revealed how high they will be.

Volkswagen manufacturers have announced the arrival of the fourth generation of the Golf R-Series in a station wagon version. It will hit the market next spring, so hurry up with orders to secure your sports family carrier. It will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injection engine with 296 horsepower and 515Nm of torque. With all-wheel drive, it reaches a speed of 100 km / h in just 5.1 seconds, which means that your children will no longer be late for school ... and breakfast will be only after arriving at school, if we want it to stay in the womb. The final speed is limited to 250 km / h, and with a combined consumption of 5.8 l / 100km, it shows excellent forecasts for a family car. The boot volume is 605 liters, which increases to 1620 liters with the folding rear seats, which is almost enough,

The British company Prodrive, which designs, manufactures and competes with cars in various car races, has embarked on a new project. This is a conversion of the Volkswagen Golf into a rally version. Test drives of this 2.0-liter sedan have already been carried out in Wales. Although it is not intended for racing in the World Rally Championship (WRC) as it has a different engine, it is ready for various other sports such as rallycross. The car will race for the first time next month, and it has the greatest chances in rallycross, despite the gearbox and chassis and suspension, which are at the level of the WRC. The Volkswagen motorsport team is aware of this project but has not been involved in the production of this car. "We did a test drive last week with no problems and now we are preparing for a test on a sandy track in Wales. It's nice

At the meeting of Volkswagen vehicles by Lake Wörthersee today, we kept our eyes on a very special product. A group of young enthusiasts turned the Golf GTI into a real beast in just nine months. The two-liter turbo engine has gained additional power and thus develops as much as 279 kilowatts or 380 horsepower. A light steel exhaust system was added to the product, and some more carbon was added. They also focused on the interior, where they installed eleven speakers with an output power of 2170W, all of which are elegantly illuminated by a series of LED lights. Passengers can spend time with the Playstation, or watch a movie on the 24-inch LED TV screen.
