Johann Zarco did his best in the challenging rain conditions in Misano in his second free practice. They were followed by both Ducati factory team riders Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller. Yamaha racers fared worse. Currently the leader in the overall standings, Quartararo reached a modest 18th place with more than two seconds behind the best. Yamaha’s fastest racer was Morbidelli, who won 13th place. Lap times were about 10 seconds slower due to rainy conditions compared to the times from the first free practice, so Maverick Vinales is still leading in Friday’s total training. He is followed by current world champion Joan Mir and racers Ducati Bagnai and Miller. RESULTS: FP2 RESULTS OF FRIDAY TRAININGS: https://twitter.com/MotoGP/statu
Formula 1 has shortened both Friday's free practice sessions by 2021 minutes each for the 30 season. This is written in a new version of the sports rules published by the FIA just before Christmas. So far, the racers have had two training sessions of 90 minutes each, but now they will only be able to train twice on Friday for 60 minutes. The third free practice, qualifiers and race remain unchanged. With this, the racers will complete three one-hour training sessions before qualifying. The total training time is thus shortened by an hour at the race weekend - instead of four, only three hours. In Article 32.1. a) reads: "Two trainings, lasting one hour each time and between them at least two and a half hours, will take place on the second day of the event." And paragraph b) adds that the third training, which lasts one hour, now starts at least 19 hours
Behind us is the third free practice of the Abu Dhabi GP, the general of the afternoon qualifiers, which is of secondary importance here on the Arabian Peninsula. The fact is that the training is in daylight and the qualifications are in the evening or in the evening, which makes the conditions completely different. And since the third training - like yesterday's first - took place in daylight and the qualifications will only take place on the eve of local time, it was no surprise that the first race car went to the track only after twenty minutes. The best time in the end was achieved by Max Verstappen in front of teammates Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciard from the Renault team. https://twitter.com/F1/status/1337715295092412416 Results of today's third free practice of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The time has finally come. After Mick Schumacher was supposed to compete in the first free practice at the Eiffel GP, which was canceled due to bad weather, he celebrated his official premiere in Formula 1 here in Abu Dhabi. In the final of this season, Mick competed in the first training session. for his future team Haas, where he replaced Kevin Magnussen. He drove 23 laps, the fastest in 1: 41.235 minutes. With that, he finished in 18th place, almost three seconds faster than his colleague Pietro Fittipaldi. “We had different programs, which is why there’s such a big difference,” admitted Schumacher, who didn’t exactly have a good start to training. After leaving the pits, he came back in the same lap. "We have a sensor in the gloves that has become independent. I didn't want to throw it in the cockpit while driving, so I
We have probably not witnessed such interest in the first free practice this year as here in Abu Dhabi. As Mick Schumacher drove his first kilometers on a Formula 1 racing weekend, world champion Lewis Hamilton returned to his race car, and George Russell, who held a press conference while still in a Mercedes job, returned to Williams. On the track, however, the big spectacle was absent, as is often the case in Abu Dhabi. As the first training took place in daylight and at around 40 ° C on the asphalt surface, and the qualifications and the race take place on the eve, the results from this training are far from representative. https://twitter.com/F1/status/1337345967176224775 Results The best time of the first practice of the finals of this season was achieved by Max Verstappen. The Briton drove the outer lap in 54,546 seconds in Sakhir's first free practice. Niki Lauda's 3,543-year-old record from 46 fell on the 1974-kilometer track.
