WILLIAMS does not want to become a B-TEAM
Mercedes is examining the limits of allowed cooperation with Racing Point this year, Red Bull has had another team in the form of the Toro Rosso / AlphaTauri team for years, with which Ferrari intends to further strengthen cooperation, while Ferrari is working closely with Alfa Romeo. Thus, Williams, along with McLarn, is the only constructor without its own engine that strives to remain independent in other segments and is therefore not in very close collaboration with a larger team. Although they see the potential benefits of such collaboration, they intend to remain as independent as possible with Williams: “We see advantages, but we don’t want to become a B-team,” said Simon Roberts, Williams ’team boss. "We want to maintain our independence, but we want to be more competitive. That is why we are open to expanding cooperation in the future.
