The Ferrari engine saves fuel

The Ferrari engine saves fuel

formula 1
Ferrari seems to have prepared one of the biggest innovations of this season. Last week, many technical media spoke about the unique cooling method of the F14-T racing car, which allows for smaller air intakes on the sides. The Italian Gazzetta dello Sport now reports that Ferrari's V6 engine is a very innovative product. The engine, which was made in Maranello, is also said to have a "cut-off" system installed, which interrupts the ignition spark and fuel injection into the combustion chamber. It is this system that should enable a drastic reduction in fuel consumption, while at the same time preventing overheating. Meanwhile, Mercedes' Paddy Lowe has already expressed the hope that this year's champion will not be decided by fuel restrictions, which states that each racer can only use 100 kilograms of fuel for the entire length of the race.

Finn Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest time of the first day of winter testing in Jerez when he returned to the cockpit of the red car. The champion of the 2007 season was seven tenths faster than Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes with a time of 1: 27.104. The Briton had to end his day prematurely after his front wings broke off before the first turn and he landed in protective tires.

Ferrari unveiled their F14-T race car a few minutes ago. Unlike last year, it is adorned with more black, and as with all the products of the teams seen so far this year, the unusual nose of the car, which resembles a dolphin's head, catches the eye. The shape of the car is also quite different from the one published by the Spanish Marca. Along with the new car, the new-old racer Kimi Raikkonen also presented himself. The last racer to win the world title with a Ferrari race car will be accompanied by Fernando Alonso from Spain in Ferrari garages.
