A Formula E race car is presented
The newly established electric powertrain racing category, Formula E, has introduced the Dallara SRT 01E race car. In the first season, all competing teams will have to use this Dallar chassis, which in turn uses the powertrain supplied by McLaren. Only in the second season will the door be opened to other designers and suppliers of powertrains. At the presentation of the car, they also confirmed the technological cooperation with Renault. The electric racing series will be shown to viewers in the 2014 season and will operate under the auspices of the International Automobile Federation FIA. In the first season, ten teams and twenty racers are expected to compete, and the races will take place mainly on street tracks.
