The actor of the Spygate affair died
Nigel Stepney, a former Ferrari engineer and one of the main actors in the Spygate affair, died in a car accident today. Stepney, 56, began his Formula One career in 1970, but before joining Ferrari, he worked on the Lotus and Benetton teams. He was fired from the Italian team in 2007 when he was suspected of sabotaging racer Kimi Raikkonen and handing over confidential information to McLarn technical director Mike Coughlan. After an infamous Formula One reputation in 2010, Stepney joined the JRM team in the GT1 Series and Wolrd Endurance, most recently co-developing this year’s Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3. “From the moment Nigel joined the team in 2010, he has been a key person on the team as he has brought us an invisible level of engineering experience,” said James Rumsey, l
