The Willams FW14B race car, with which Nigel Mansell became world champion in 1992, will be on sale at this year's Goodwood Speed Festival by the Bonhams auction house. It is with this race car that Mansell is expected to celebrate five of a total of nine victories this season. In 2017, former racer Karun Chandhok rode with him at the Silverstone racetrack on the fortieth anniversary of Willimas ’first Formula 1 appearance. This will not be the first time that Bonhams has sold a race car. Its motorsport director Mark Osborne said of the sale: "It is a truly remarkable car. It was completely unrivaled in the 1992 season. It was designed by the great Adrian Newey, who is still an important part of Formula 1 today, and this car is one of his greatest masterpieces. and one of them
The organizers of the upcoming race in Mexico named the last turn at the renovated Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez during the time of Nigel Mansell, the 1992 world champion. The turn was later changed for safety reasons, but the organizers of the Mexican race say: "We couldn't find a better section on this 1990-kilometer track to dedicate it to Mansell in honor." At the time of the appointment, however, a racing legend said: "I have good and solid memories of racing in Mexico. The people, energy and track itself remained in me. When I learned that the bend would bear my name, I was honored. Honored, proud and happy , all to the same extent
The former UK Grand Prix venue in Brands Hatch has hosted modern Formula 1 race cars for the first time in seven years, as Lotus has organized a filming day. Romain Grosjean, Pastor Maldonado and reserve racer Jolyon Palmer showed off the ride in this year's E23 and the Lotus 72E, driven by Emerson Fittipaldi and Ronnie Peterson between 1973 and 1974. Both race cars were on the track in the afternoon, while Lotus spent most of the morning filming in different parts of the racetrack, in the pits and showing the starts. The team opened a boxing street for fans during lunch. It was the first event at Brands Hatch after Lewis Hamilton drove a demonstration ride in the 2008 DTM with an MP4-23 race car, which he drove the same year.
