From 19 to 21 June, the Gorjanci mountain speed race will be on the agenda again. On the 4,3 km long course, the competitors will compete in the Slovenian and Austrian championships, and the race will also be considered the European Championship of vintage cars, the European Mountain Speed Cup. The listed competitions are a guarantee for a great race, worth watching. This year's national championship in mountain speed racing traditionally started in neighboring Verzegnis, where last year's success was repeated by the current national champion Matevž Boh (Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX), who is coming to Gorjanci as the leader in the Slovenian national championship, in second and third place. Silux Cup - A much-needed diversification of races!
The very successful Slovenian team Lema Racing and the well-known IK Sport are preparing an interesting cup competition in mountain speed races for this season together with the company Silux. The Silux Cup will comprise four races, which will also count as the Slovenian Mountain Speed National Championship, and the racers will compete in them with six Renault Clio Cups of two generations and two Škoda Fabia R2s. Robert Markič improved his personal best result by six seconds with his Peugeot 106 in the mountain speed race in Ilirska Bistrica with a time of 3: 06.78. Slavko Zorman, who suffered a serious accident with his Renault Clio Williams in the first training session last Saturday before the mountain speed race in Ilirska Bistrica, was discharged from the hospital today and is already at home. Slavko posted this good news on his Facebook profile, where he thanked everyone for the encouragement after the accident. Benešu wins, Zajelšnik an excellent third
The Czech Miloš Beneš was also the fastest in the second run of the race in Ilirska Bistrica. In the second attempt, the stopwatch showed 2: 05.60, and the second fastest Fausto Bormolini was 1.74 seconds slower. The third was Slovenian Patrik Zajelšnik, who was separated from the winner by less than five seconds.
