Autoslalom Ljubečna 2013

An attractive motoring event is being prepared this Sunday, October 13, at the Ljubčena car range. More than 80 drivers from three countries have already registered for the skill of driving racing cars, and drivers with their production vehicles will also join the competitors. The route will be interesting for both drivers and spectators, and the organizers from AMD Šempeter want to contribute in their own way to safety on our roads and to reducing the number of traffic accidents. A unique attraction will be the GPE13 student formula, as the car was designed by students Maribor Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The oldest competitor to compete on the track is 73-year-old Ferdinand Löschnig, an Austrian who is still actively competing in the Austrian Championship.

The advantage of such car slaloms is that everyone who has passed the driving test and the car can enter the competition. “Drivers can come with everyday vehicles, that is, exactly the kind they use every day to drive to the store or to work. Serial vehicles are placed in a special category, so they have an equal chance of winning within the category, "he explained. Saša Friedrich, President of AMD Šempeter. With this, autoslalom is also available to amateurs and is probably one of the cheapest motorsports in general. The competition is a kind of training for drivers in general, who can test their car to the extreme on a safe training ground. "These experiences also prove to be valuable later, in everyday traffic, when there are some sudden situations, which we all hope would be as few as possible," added Friedrich.

Autoslalom competition was popular in Celje decades ago, and members of AMD Šempeter have revived this passion for attractive racing in recent years. Anyone interested in such a competition can also register for the ride on the day of the event from 6.30 to 7.30. There will be three races throughout the day, the first starting at 8.30, the further course depends on the total number of entrants. During the breaks, a ride with a GPE13 race car and go-karts will be on display. The competition is expected to end with the awarding of trophies at 17.30 pm.
