Suzuka racetrack president Hiroshi Soda and Bernie Ecclestone met in London this week to sign a new five-year contract that will take effect next season. That means the owner of the Suzuki Honda racetrack will appear on his home track in 2015 when he returns as a McLaren motorcycle supplier.
Soda said, of course, that he hoped for better ticket sales, if for no other reason than Honda: "Definitely more and more people are interested in Formula One after the announcement of Honda's return. Nevertheless, there are still two years to go, which is why immediate higher ticket sales are not to be expected. "
Bernie is also pleased with the contract extension: "It's nice to see the return of Honda in 2015. In my opinion, the Japanese Grand Prix will attract a lot of people."
