The OPV Šport association from Lučin achieved success in its first year of operation, and they wrote more about it:
”In the overall ranking of associations or holders of the AŠ2005 (NTL) license, we achieved an excellent 2nd place at the national level among a total of 22 clubs that participated in the 2014 National Rally Championship and 4th place among a total of 35 clubs in the general classification of all competitive industries.
The crew of Martin Mlinar / Miran Mlinar with the MG ZR 105 race car won the following places:
- 2nd place in the country in the competition of Division I up to 1400 ccm (in the competition of 43 teams)
- 9th place in the general classification of the national rally championship (in the competition of 71 teams)
- 3rd place in the cup championship (in the competition of 43 teams)
The crew of Andrej Velkavrh / Nina Gorenc with a VW Polo won the following places:
- 3nd place in the country in the competition of Division I up to 1400 ccm (in the competition of 43 teams)
- 10th place in the general classification of the national rally championship (in the competition of 71 teams)
- 2rd place in the cup championship (in the competition of 43 teams)
The crew of Simon Mlinar / Rok Nartnik with the Yugo race car won the following places:
- 1st place in the country in the Yugo Cup (in the competition of 10 teams)
- 15th place in the general classification of the national rally championship (in the competition of 71 teams)
- 7rd place in the cup championship (in the competition of 43 teams)
- Simon Mlinar also won 2nd place in the junior national championship for drivers under 21.
It is also necessary to mention the other crews who participated in individual rallies this season. Congratulations to the crew Vs. Marjan Oberžan / Petra Gerbec (Yugo) and crew Vs. Anže Tušar / Monika Terglavčnik (VW Polo) for the fight to the last kilometer and for the successful representation of our association at the rallies Idrija, Železniki and Poreč. Praise also goes to the crew Vs. Bojan Velkavrh / Boštjan Turšič (Yugo), who took part in a sprint rally in Železniki.
However, we must mention that this year's national championship was irregular for us, as a great injustice happened to our association at the Poreč rally. Due to the incompetence of the umbrella association AŠ 2005 and due to more than obvious corruption and connections of certain associations with the management of the association, we lost the title of national champion in Division I, despite official complaints of violation of the rules of one of the crews. games we became a loser.
For us and for the vast majority of the Slovenian rally family, Martin and Miran Mlinar are national champions, while Andrej Velkavrh and Nina Gorenc are runners-up in Division I. No one can take that away from us.
We achieved great success at the Poreč International Rally in Croatia. The millers with MG ZR 105 convincingly won 1st place in Division I, while Andrej Velkavrh and his co-driver Nina Gorenc won 3rd place. Simon Mlinar won 2nd place in the Yugo Cup with the Yugo, and the crew of Marjan Oberžan and Petra Gerbec won the 16th place among the 21 registered teams in the division.
We are preparing for new, even bigger challenges for the upcoming 2015 season. Of course, as so far in the next season, we will try to give our best and reach for the highest results and be as supportive as possible for our competitors.
