Spengler pole

In Spielberg, Spengler managed to get his first best starting position in the DTM series. Namely, Bruno drove only one lap in the last, fourth part of the qualifications and overtook Marc Wittmann by one tenth of a second. Of course, everything did not go so smoothly, as Bruno was six hundredths of a second behind in the second sector, but in the end he only succeeded with a fantastic ride.

Last year's Spielberg winner Edoardo Mortara will start the race from the third starting position. Fourth place went to Augusto Farfus with a BMW, followed by Timo Scheider, who finished the qualifications in the third part. Interestingly, Hockenheim winner Dirk Wener finished the qualification in the second half and will start the race from the eleventh starting position.

Tomczyk and Ekstrom took care of the real drama in the first part of the qualifications, ousting Adrien Tambay and Jamie Green from the further qualifying fight. The slowest racers in the first part of qualifying were Andy Priaulx and Roberto Merhi. In addition, Priaulx will get five more mark-up points, for disregarding the yellow flags.
