Michael Schumacher remains in critical condition after a head injury, it was announced at a press conference at the hospital in Grenoble, where the German is being treated.

The seven-time world champion is still in an artificial coma as doctors try to reduce brain swelling. Although French media reported that he underwent another operation, they explained at a press conference that this was not the case. His condition is nevertheless very serious, and next to him at the moment are his closest ones, wife Corinna, daughter Gina-Maria and son Mick, who was with his father at the time of the accident.

Former racer Olivier Panis rushed to the hospital yesterday. Former F1 team bosses Ross Brawn and Jean Todt have also reportedly joined Schumi's family.

Schumi's doctor Johannes Peil, who took care of him in 2009 when he had a motorcycle accident, also arrived in Grenobel.
