The C33 is the name of the Sauber race car with which Adrian Sutil and Esteban Gutierrez will compete in this year's Formula One Championship. The Swiss team also opted for a nose resembling a finger, but they picked a different shape of the front wing brackets.
“Due to radical changes in the rules, it is difficult to predict the course of the season,” said chief designer Eric Gandelin. “We know what kind of package we have put together and they are happy with it, but it is difficult to say in what form the competitors will be. The first opportunity to hint at a power relationship between teams will be testing. With the C33 race car, we have taken a path that allows us to make quick adjustments, which means that we will be able to act quickly if we stumble from the right path in any area. It is clear that reliability will be an important factor, so we have dedicated the most time to this area, ”Gandelin explained.
Sauber will be driving the C33 for the first time on the track at the upcoming test in Jerez, which will take place between 28 and 31 January.
