Toro Ross's newcomer Carlos Sainz Jr. and Max Verstappen plan to take more risks in their well-started Formula 1 careers to continue the season, where they have already collected some points for the World Cup.

Sainz scored points in his first two races, and Verstappen, as the youngest racer, earned points in Malaysia and impressed with overtaking in China before being released by Renault’s power unit. They both admitted that they approached the first races more reservedly, and in the future they will give even more of themselves.

“The main goal at the beginning was to finish the race and gain as much experience as possible. Before, we used to race for about thirty minutes, but now we had to get used to the hour and forty-five minute race, so it’s really important to get to the finish line to learn from it. In my opinion, we both took a step back with aggression and an approach to driving in the lower series, but during the season I want to add my aggressiveness, ”Sainz told Autosport.

Verstappen says he builds on self-confidence and has already started to bring more aggression into the race. He summed up his words: “From race to race I feel more at home in the race car. You don't want to risk too much in the first races, but for China I decided to try some overtaking and take a risk. ”
