George Russell will replace Williams' car with a Mercedes on Wednesday after competing for the Brackley team in two tests.
The English racer has played the role of Mercedes test racer for the past two seasons before joining Formula 1 to Willams, however Toto Wolf is certainly still closely following his performances, as a possible transfer to the current leading team is not ruled out in the future.
The current Formula 2 world champion will sit in the car on Wednesday, the day after Lewis Hamilton does his job. Two of the four off-season test days must be completed by teams with a racer who has not driven more than two Formula 1 races.
What does this mean for Esteban Ocon? The Mercedes reserve racer will most likely take part in a test in Barcelona next month or in a Pirelli tire test. On Monday, Renault confirmed that their test racer Jack Aitken will replace Daniel Ricciard, who will perform on Tuesday, on Wednesday. Nicholas Latifi will play for Williams on Tuesday, and George Russell and Robert Kubica will share on Tuesday.
It remains unknown who will play for the Alfa Romeo team on Tuesday. However, it is already clear that after his debut in Formula 2, Mick Schumacher will also make his debut in a Formula 1 car, first on Tuesday for Ferrari, and on Wednesday for Alfa Romeo. In addition, Fernando Alonso will be sitting in the car this time.
